Travel Dog Crates

If you own a dog or a cat, sooner or later you will need to travel with him or her. For many dogs, if you are simply going to the local dog park or across town, your dog will be happy to sit in the passenger or back seat of your vehicle. But if you need to take your dog to the vet you will need a travel dog crate. With a travel dog crate, your dog will be separated from the other animals at the veterinarian’s office. Also if you ever need to take your dog on air travel, you will need an airline approved travel crate. You will find these in our selection of travel dog crates.

We sell the highest-grade travel dog crates. These travel dog crates will protect your pet while also keeping him or her comfortable in his travel kennel.

Choosing the right size Travel Dog Crate for your Dog

It is important that you choose the right sized Travel Dog Crate for your Dog. Especially when your dog travel crate is used for air travel situation, you have to consider that your dog will be confined in the crate for multiple hours. Therefore, you need it to be small enough to keep your dog safely contained, but large enough to allow some motion and flexibility for your dog.

The travel dog crate should be tall enough to allow your pet to stand normally without hitting the ceiling. Also your dog should be able to see out of the crate without have to duck or strain. The dog travel crate should be wide enough for your dog to turn around comfortably. Lastly there should be sufficient space for the dog to lie down in the travel dog crate with his or her paws fully extended.

Measuring your Dog

To make sure you order the correct dog travel crate, you should measure your dog. First Measure your length of your dog. This should be from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (exclude the length of the tail from the measurement). Then measure the height of your dog, from the floor to the top of the head.

By adding 4” to both of these measurements you have the appropriate length and height of the dog travel crate that your dog needs
